Greetings and welcome. After several years of hard work, countless late nights, and lots of coffee, I’m thrilled to announce Railgun Labs, LLC to the world.

Railgun Labs, LLC is an independent software company operated by me, Henry. I started programming in my early teens, earned a Computer Science degree, and worked professionally as a software engineer and manager at Big Corp™ before striking out on my own.

For the remainder of this announcement, I’ll explore my philosophy on how I intended to run the company.

Timeless Software

I remember the days when software came in physical boxes, sold at brick-and-mortar stores, and you paid a one-time price to own it. Unfortunately, many in the software industry have trended toward subscription models, dark patterns, and normalized day-one patches.

I didn’t want Railgun Labs to be a “modern” tech company. I pride myself on it being refreshingly old-school. Here’s what that means for you:

• Transparent Pricing: All prices are public. All software and services are offered for a flat fee. I don’t believe in subscription fees, royalties, or advertisements.

• World-class Service: When you download my software, you’re getting a polished, cohesive product created from a single vision. When you need support, you get it directly from the person who wrote the software and owns the company.

• Authenticity: I’m not a big corporation and I won’t pretend to be one. Authenticity and honesty are too important to me. I’m a solo developer, and this is my dream company.

Built for Me, Built for You

I practice what I preach: Every piece of software I develop is something I use myself. This isn’t a marketing strategy. It’s a fundamental part of my development process.

Using the software myself helps me refine and perfect it. If there’s a need for more functionality, I experience it firsthand. If there are pain points, I feel them. By integrating my software into my workflow, I believe I gain invaluable insights that lead to better, more user-centric products.

Craftsmanship In Everything

Craftsmanship is important to me. I believe in shipping products when they are done and not before. I do not rush products to market or treat my users as beta testers.

Clean code, usability, and solid design guide my work. Every pixel placed, every bit flipped is lovingly done by myself.

Remaining Independent

Railgun Labs is entirely self-funded. I’ve made a deliberate choice to reject investor funding because I believe that true innovation requires freedom. My focus is on what’s best for my products and my users, not on meeting short-term financial goals.

What’s Next

I’m excited to announce that in the coming week, I’ll be unveiling my very first software product. While I won't spoil the surprise, I promise it’s something I’ve poured my heart into.
